Children’s Dentistry
We are passionate about helping children achieve and maintain optimal oral health. Children of all ages will always receive compassionate, gentle dental care at our practice. From exams and cleans to fillings and sports guards, an array of services can help children have beautiful, healthy smiles.
Custom Mouthguards
If you or your child participate in sport, injuries like concussions or broken teeth are a definite risk. Our customised mouthguards provide excellent protection of the mouth, teeth and jaws.
Emergency Dental Care
As a dental emergency can occur at any time, you want to get the care you need straightaway. From a knocked-out tooth to a throbbing toothache, dental emergencies can arise when you least expect it. We provide care seven days a week and offer sedation options to keep you comfortable.
Extractions and Wisdom Teeth
While it’s always ideal to preserve your natural teeth, there are times when an extraction may be required. These include impacted wisdom teeth, severe pain and other reasons. We provide sedation options to keep you comfortable during the procedure.
Gum Disease Treatment
Periodontal disease, also known as gum disease, is a common cause of adult tooth loss. Fortunately, it is preventable. If treated early, you can preserve the health of your smile.
Porcelain or Composite Fillings
Amalgam-free fillings blend in with your teeth for an attractive look that’s also affordable and strengthens a tooth after it’s been weakened by a form of decay. The traditional silver amalgam fillings used commonly in the past contain mercury. Instead of these substances, we use porcelain or composite materials that blend in seamlessly with your smile.
Root Canal Treatment
With the modern, advanced equipment available at our practice, root canal treatment is easier than ever. In the past, you may have thought of pain and discomfort when discussing such a procedure. Now, though, we provide an efficient, comfortable treatment that takes just about an hour. Root canal treatment allows you to save a tooth from extraction, minimise further damage, and stop an infection from spreading. You’ll be properly anaesthetised before starting. Then, the infected or damaged tissue is removed, and the root packed with a filling material. Lastly, your tooth will receive a crown that protects and stabilises it.
Sleep Apnoea Treatment
If you have sleep apnoea, you likely will wake up feeling exhausted or unrefreshed. Your sleep partner also may complain of your snoring. As sleep apnoea is considered a serious medical issue that needs to be addressed, we provide a comfortable and effective option to treat it.
Scale and Clean
We believe in taking a preventative approach to oral health. In addition to brushing twice a day and flossing daily, visiting us twice a year for checkups can help keep your smile in tip-top condition. A comprehensive examination isn’t just about cleaning or examining your teeth. It also includes discussing your health history, screening for oral cancer, taking diagnostic X-rays, analysing gum health, looking at your bite and jaw, and a tooth-by-tooth assessment. Areas of concern will be identified and discussed with our dentists for further evaluation. Claire Thornton, our oral health therapist, is available to work with children under 18 years of age.
