What Is Invisalign®?
At East Adelaide Dental Studio, we’re proud to offer patients options when it comes to their oral health. With Invisalign clear aligners, you can achieve straighter teeth without the need for traditional metal braces and brackets. Invisalign consists of wearing a series of custom fit clear aligners to move your teeth into proper position, correcting many of the same issues that traditional metal braces address. A few benefits of Invisalign include:
- Aesthetically pleasing—no one will be able to tell you’re wearing braces
- Invisalign is removable—you can remove your retainers for eating and brushing
- Less time at the dentist—Invisalign usually requires less adjusting time than traditional braces
- Improved comfort—because Invisalign isn’t fixed to your teeth with cement, there may be less discomfort and no dietary restrictions
What to Expect
At your first appointment, we’ll evaluate your smile and bite to get a better understanding of your issues and whether or not you’re a great candidate for Invisalign. If we deem you a great candidate, we’ll discuss the entire process from start to finish with you so there are no surprises throughout your treatment.
Next, we’ll take impressions of your teeth and complete a 3D analysis of your mouth to determine treatment length as well as your potential outcome. Then, we’ll schedule you for a follow-up visit in which we’ll run by the projected changes to your smile. You’ll also receive a complete quote at this time.

Continued Treatment
After beginning your treatment, Invisalign aligners need to be worn at lease 22 hours out of each day. Every one-two weeks (depending on your progress), you’ll change out your old retainer for a new one that is slightly different. Week after week, you’ll begin to notice a straighter, improved smile. Regular maintenance appointments are required so we can track your progress and ensure you experience the best outcome possible.
